19THC COALPORT PORCELAIN CABINET PLATE. PAINTED FLOWERS SEVRES STYLE FLORAL.Coalport Porcelain Cabinet Plate Painted Flowers Sevres Style Floral Ground c1820. A Coalport porcelain hand painted cabinet plate from the John Rose period circa 1820, one of the premier makers of English porcelain. This beautiful quality, very collectable and highly decorative Georgian or Regency period low relief moulded cabinet plate has a diamond net embossed finish. The ground all painted with diapers of fine yellow and blue dots, stylised flowers, in the squares with gilt framed vignettes of flowers, all trimmed with gold. The style of the ground is reminiscent of Sevres decoration. The central vignette or cartouche has gilt "feather edge" topped with a stylised crown of a King of Arms. The plate has the distinctively shaped impressed number mark associated with John Rose of Coalport, Shropshire, England.
This mark was generally used in the period 1815 to 1825. Some collectors refer to his china as Coalbrookdale.
The plate is 10 inches 25.3. In diameter and is in excellent antique condition, there are no chips cracks nor restoration. There is some very minor wear to the gilding.
