The Porcelain Ball pattern was part of Minton's line from 1955 to 1979, however there are no references to this Cobalt Blue version in any historical pattern guides. They were most likely produced specifically at the request of Henry Morgan & Co.
The incised mark date the production to 1945, making these plates 74 years old. The body is Minton's highly translucent bone china. The plate rims feature a deep cobalt blue overlaid with an intricate scrolling floral motif. The shoulder of the plates feature two additional thin decorative gold bands, while the outer edge of the rims feature a wide acid etched bold band. This listing was part of a vintage/estate collection and are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. Given the exceptional condition, I believe these plates were never used. The majority of my listings are vintage estate pieces or department store excess inventory. Light scratches from normal use or storage may be present on some pieces. I list thousands of pieces making it impossible to describe each individual piece, but my inventory will never have chips, cracks, repairs, crazing, breaks or other flaws unless specifically and clearly called out in the listing description. In the unlikely chance a flaw escapes my inspection, please contact me and I will correct the situation.
I often have items that are in mint condition: new, unused, or still in the original boxes. These details will be noted in the item description.
I accept only Pay Pal. Your feedback is important and I hope to be able to add you to this list. If for any reason I have not met your expectations, please contact me and I will make it right.
