Vintage Set of 8 Meissen Porcelain Dinner Plates Cobalt Trim Floral Motif
Beautiful set of 8 antique Meissen dinner plates measuring approximately 10 7/8 in diameter. Has colorful hand painted flower bouquet with smaller flower sprigs decorating the top. Edge trimmed in cobalt blue with gilt pattern similar to fluer de lis. The top of the plate has a thin gold ring approximately 1 3/8 from the edge , this shows significant gold wear. Other areas of gold wear are minimal. On some of the plates you may see small divots that would have been made at the time of manufacturing. These areas would have been a flaw in the porcelain that Meissen corrected by sanding and glazing over the entire piece. These plates appear to have been used quite a bit, the majority of them have utensil marks.
Very nice condition for the age of the plates with no chips or cracks. Plates are all marked under glaze with blue crossed swords.
