Offered for sale is a stunning pair of antique medium blue transferware dinner plates manufactured in Staffordshire, England during the mid 1800s. The plates are in the Peonies Mosaic pattern and they were made by John & Richard Riley.

Overall the plates measure about 10 1/8 in diameter and they are unmarked. The overall condition of the pair is excellent. They are clean and have no chips, cracks, or repairs with the exception of a sliver flake to the base rim of one plate. This same plate also has a tight hairline on the base. The white earthenware is still quite bright and the blue color is deep with nice contrast.

The glaze is glossy with fine consistent crazing and there are standard scratches on the surfaces with minimal glaze rubbing to the rims. The plates display extremely well and it would be a nice addition to any collection or home!
