6 Antique 1910 Royal Doulton Dinner Plates H323 Blue Flower Baskets & Swags. As the song goes, we may never be royals, but you CAN have heirloom quality Royal Doulton dinnerware for that feeling of posh living! They are bright white fine porcelain with a dainty design of blue flower baskets filled with hand-painted pink roses, scattered roses and blue swags, overlaid with a fine, net-like pattern of gilding in circles and short lines. The rim and center has a gold-bordered blue band with fine white detail.

The gold on the edge rims is in remarkably good condition and intact. The delicate gold "netting" overlay is worn just on the curve where it rounds over to the center. Made by the historic Royal Doulton potteries, Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent. The initialing on the back indicates these were designed by Richard Allen and produced between 1910 and 1914, making them at least 110 years old!

(See photos and excerpt from Michael Perry, _British Pottery_) There are also differing impressed numerals of unknown significance on the backs. In very, very good antique condition, with no chips or cracks; there is wear to the gold pattern that overlays the rest on the raised area adjoining the inner circle. The wear seems commensurate with their age and light use, with light scratches from silverware on the surface.

If you would like to coordinate this set with beautiful turn-of-the-century glassware, check out some of our gorgeous antique glasses! The Fine Print from Beautiful Things for You. If you are here, you probably love vintage and antique glassware, too! We are enthusiasts, but not experts. We try to share as much background on the pieces as we can; but it is only informed opinion. Please take it as so. We love learning and welcome additional information if you have it! When possible, we include screen shots from reputable companies for pattern identification, but you will always receive the item pictured in our personal photos. We try very hard to find and point out any flaws _exactingly_ so you know what you are getting.

Please read the description and look carefully at the photos - we will provide closeups of flaws, often circled, so you can evaluate them yourself. Photos are to be considered part of the description. We generally do not refer to flaws original to manufacture i.

Bubbles, nubs, slubs unless they are very distinctive. Vintage and antique items are by nature, old. They will have the marks and wear commensurate with their age; with antique items these indications of age are part of their beauty, and evocative of the passage of time. We will try to describe this wear carefully, but some wear is to be expected.

Decorative photo materials such as silk flowers, trays, mirrors and etc. Are not included unless this is expressly mentioned in the listing. They are there to help show vintage glassware and china can be repurposed, and displayed beautifully in many ways!

Because we love vintage items, we pack glassware with the utmost of care, with multiple layers of bubble wrap, additional padding, and Fragile stickers. Absolutely let us know if this happens! But please notify us if this is happening. Thank you for looking at our items! We hope if you are interested in unique, sustainable, heirloom quality crystal, ceramics and glassware, you have found something here you love!
