8 Stouffer 11 Cobalt & Heavy Gold Cabinet Dinner Plates Hand Decorated Chicago

This listing is for an absolutely stunning set of eight, 11 cabinet dinner plates by Stouffer Fine China in a cobalt blue and heavy gold pattern. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. No real evidence of use; possibly a tiny and very fine mark or two, but most likely from storage rather than use. The front sides of the plates are near perfect. On the back side there are some slight manufacturing blemishes, but nothing to impact stability not grandeur of this set.

A couple plates have some dark marks on the back side only (see last photo for the most extreme example). We're not sure if this was from the manufacturing process, the secondary decorating process, or from years of storage.

Stouffer did not create their own porcelain, they were a decorating studio in Chicago from 1902 through 1952. A competitor of companies like Pickard, Stouffer employed some of the World's finest decorators, including many artists that also worked at Pickard. With this set, the cobalt color is very deep, the gold embellishments are extremely strong, and the glaze has a nice sheen. A truly stunning set that displays amazingly well.
