These are in the Blue Carnation pattern which was inspired by the Japanese Imari style showing a stylized representation of the Japanese garden.
In the 17th Century this pattern, produced mostly in the famous maiolica town of Faenza, became a favorite china dinnerware all over the world. Each piece is signed by the artist Bruno Brolli of Rimini Italy. These are heavy quality plates.

Co Artisan Workshop retired and turned over the workshop to his apprentice Roberto del Vecchio. These were made especially for Biordi Art Imports, a San Francisco institution that opened in 1946 and is known as "the place" for high quality and original artistic Majolica.
