EKB Elkin, Knight & Bridgwood ETRUSCAN Transferware Dinner Plate c. Decorated with a classical scene featuring Pegasus, the winged horse, Muses of art and music, and a putto holding a cap and torch, the scene is framed by an inner band of leaves.
The outer border shows scrolls and acanthus leaves finished on a moulded beaded edge. The plate is a transfer pattern printed in light blue on white background. Back is stamped with a cartouche showing the pattern name ETRUSCAN with the initials EKB also is an impressed symbol, that appears to be a leaf. Measures 10 ¾ in diameter.
In very good antique condition: there is a minor chip to the foot rim as shown as well as minimal scratching noted. Plate may have minor factory flaws such as pitting or slight glaze loss on the rim consistent with manufacturing at this time. Note that we have other listings containing 9 additional plates (7 are in very good condition, 1 has a chip to foot rim and 1 has a small chip on the rim).A wonderful and rare addition to any antique transferware collection!
