J&W Ridgway 10 Pearlware Dark Blue Dinner Plate Christ Church Oxford? 1825 UK

In 1813, John and William, the Ridgway brothers continued their father's pottery business at Cauldon Place in Stokes- on -Trent. Around 1820, they created a Pearlware blue & whte transfer printed dishes commerating both Oxford and Cambridge Universities.

Their unique octagonal center design with ornate and intricate designed borders sets their work apart. This antique plate measures approximately 10 in diameter and there is very fine crazing on the back of the plate.

The front of the plate is in excellent condition.
