LOT OF 10 LENOX OVINGTON CHINA J19K COBALT BLUE & GOLD ENCRUSTED PLATES C1912. For your consideration are lot of 10 beautiful plates. Research indicates they are rare and hard to find, dating from around 1912. Was a high end merchant in New York specializing in better lines of china and wares. Lot includes two dinner plates, one of them is flat and is marked 1830 J 19 K on the back, but it has the same color & design on the front as the other plate which is marked 101/2 J 19 K. Four salad plates are included and they measure approx. Also include are 4 dessert plates which measure approx.

The decorated rim overall is 1-3/4. J19K's gold encrusted decoration has the look of Tuxedo with the width of Lowell. The plates will integrate beautifully with any ivory based china pattern. The plates have a delicacy and translucency that is singularly unique to that early time period and has not been reproduced.

The plates are in very good used condition with light scratches or utensil marks on surfaces as shown in the photos -- n ot deep, nor are they significant, and they are not rampant. The gold banding/ encrusting is in very fine condition and the craftsmanship is notable.

There are small areas of faint discoloration on the cobalt, back & at the edge of the plates, one of the smaller plate has rough spot on the back, but I do not think that is from damage. You can see in the photos that the color of the gold & blue is fresh & vibrant! They all marked on the back. Please look at all pics as they are part of the description.
