Pair of STUNNING Chinese BLUE &WHITE KANGXI PLATES ca 1720. This is a beautiful pair of plates Blue &white made in China for export to the West in the Kangxi era, ca 1720. The plates are very lightly potted with a blueish glaze.
The decoration was executed under the glaze in blue. Both plates are beautifully painted with flowers; you can see peonies, daisies, chrysanthemums. The plates have a thin ochre rim and a nice detail on the underside.
They are both marked with an apocryphal mark , as is not unusual for plates of this era. CONDITION REPORT The plates are in beautiful condition with no chips cracks or restoration, and the plates are slightly different, as is common for plates of this period. Antique porcelain is never perfect. Everything was handwork and kilns were fired on wood or coal, creating a lot of dust and other particles that could get baked into the porcelain by accident.Due to the shrinkage in the kiln, items can have small firing lines, which should not be seen as damage but as an imperfection of the time of production. I will reflect any damage, repairs, obvious stress marks, crazing or heavy wear in the item description but some minor scratches, nicks, stains and gilt disintegration can be normal for vintage items and need to be taken a.
