These plates were retailed by Brinsmaid and Company of Des Moines, Iowa.

All are completely free of chips, cracks, crazing, scuffs or scratches. The plates were acquired in the 30's for Des Moines debutante Betty Fay's wedding to Ansel Blake.

Miss Fay's grandfather was a friend and colleague of Theodore Roosevelt. He was a worldwide agricultural explorer, going to Japan, Chine, and Korea, ultimately bringing rice to Louisiana.

He also started the 4H which was initially formed to teach non-English speaking immigrants how to farm on American soils.
