For your consideration is a stunning set of 8 Bernardaud Limoges Porcelain Dinner Plates in the elegant "Castiglione" pattern. Made in France, these plates feature a crisp white background with a subtle swirl/fluted texture molded into the porcelain. The rim is decorated with a rich cobalt blue and gold scroll design with acanthus leaf motifs, finished with a scalloped gold edge.
These plates represent the height of French porcelain craftsmanship. The 10.25 size makes them perfect for use as standard dinner plates. No chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs. The gold trim is bright and vivid with minimal to no rubbing.
There may be very faint utensil marks consistent with light usage and age, but they appear well-cared for. Please see photos for details on the backstamps and overall condition. Backstamp Variation: As shown in the photos, the backstamps vary slightly within the set (some feature the green "B & Co" mark with red pattern name, others have the blue Bernardaud stamp), indicating production runs from different eras, but the pattern is identical.
Design: Cobalt blue Baroque/Rococo style scrolls with heavy gold accents. Shape: Scalloped rim with a swirled verge. 8 lbs 10 oz (for the set). Plate Diameter: 10.25 in.
