1 7 side / salad plate. The Serenade line was offered for the first time in trade publications on July 1939.
Serenade was HLC's first pastel colored line and it was advertised as The magic of delicate, soft pastel shades in yellow, pink, green, and blue. The finish is soft and rich with a faintly dull glaze. Serenade is a VERY sought after pastel set because it was only produced for a very short time. The matte textured pastel glazes were used with another HLC shape, Nautilus, and a special Serenade Kitchen Kraft casserole was made as a promotion for Royal Metal and M.In 1948, HLC would make another attempt with pastel glazes in the form of Jubilee. Serenade is not as widely produced as other lines making the pieces harder to find - plus these pastel glazes is so beautiful. Overall pieces are in good vintage condition.
Most of the pieces are chip and nick free - a few of the plates have small rim nicks or chips which are small. Factory sand bums, factory glaze skips and other factory production misses are common for vintage pottery, especially this Serenade line. Overall, glaze is very shiny and clean. Some wear and utensil scratches on the pieces on a few spots.
Overall these pieces in good condition. Have lots of other vintage HLC pieces to browse as well - including other Serenade pieces! We have many more HLC pieces!
